February 10th, 2016

On February 10, 2016, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Rural Development (RD) approved the application for funding for the Radium Springs Water System Improvements project in the form of a $808,000 Loan and $3,226,000 Colonias Grant for the Doña Ana Mutual Domestic Water Consumers Association (MDWCA), located in Doña Ana County, New Mexico. In 2015, the Association was approved for $100,200 from New Mexico Colonias Infrastructure Fund (CIF) for the design services of phase one of the improvements.  Both funding sources will be used to complete the Doña Ana MDWCA Radium Springs water system improvements project, estimated at $4,166,555.  Souder, Miller & Associates (SMA) has completed the Preliminary Engineering Report (PER), Environmental Assessment (EA) and preliminary design (for phase one), and assisted with obtaining CIF and USDA RD funding for this valuable water system improvement project. The newly awarded USDA RD funding will allow the completion of design and construction of critical water system improvements.
