SMA Staff Included in Colorado Springs Run for Team World Vision Fundraiser

September 13th, 2016

Gordon Kuenn of the SMA Denver Office participated in the American Discovery Trail Marathon/Half-Marathon Run in Colorado Springs, Colorado on behalf of World Vision. World Vision is a humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.

This Labor Day’s fundraiser was dedicated to clean water projects in Africa. The group from World Vision (over 150 people strong) represented about 15% of the field of over 1,000 participants in the race.  The goal was to raise $200,000 through this event and, to date, over $211,000 has been generously donated.  Over four-thousand people will benefit from having sustainable clean water brought to their communities, meaning better health and better opportunities for these individuals.

The pictures show participants from Gordon’s church in Golden, Colorado. Gordon’s group raised over $32K of the total, including some matching donations from SMA.  To learn more about World Vision, please visit the “Team World Vision” website (teamworldvision.org).
