The City of Roswell has a new entrance on the west side of the city with the extension of W. College Blvd. from N. Sycamore Ave, 1.5 miles west to the Roswell Relief Route. This project includes four 12 foot driving lanes, bicycle lanes, drainage channels and crossing structures, sidewalks and curb and gutter. The new construction ties into an existing subdivision and the Roswell Relief Route. It provides new access to the subdivision for emergency vehicles and an additional access to Roswell from the existing relief route. Construction began in October 2011 and was completed in May 2012 at a cost in excess of $3.7 million.
Souder, Miller & Associates (SMA) provided the road design and structural design from our Roswell and Santa Fe offices; construction was completed by Mountain States Constructors, Inc. in May of 2012; construction administration and observation as well as material testing was provide by the City of Roswell. Paul A. Zagone, P.E. was SMA’s project manager for the project.
