Souder, Miller & Associates (SMA) is an engineering, environmental and surveying firm that provides the framework for employees to achieve more as a team for the benefit of our clients, communities and the environment. The Miller Group was founded in 1984 and became SMA after a merger in 1992 with Karl Souder & Associates. Today, SMA has offices in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Utah.

SMA is part of the Miller Group of firms, which includes firms in Wisconsin, Wyoming and the surrounding states.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control Programs

All work produced in the company is reviewed by a Professional Engineer, a Registered Land Surveyor, a Professional Geologist and/or other certified professional, as is appropriate for the project. SMA ensures that all on-site work complies with a Health and Safety Plan designed to meet all applicable OSHA standards. As a facet of this program, all personnel working in potentially hazardous environments maintain appropriate OSHA (or MSHA) certifications as well as other site-specific training. As an additional further measure of protection for the client, SMA maintains Errors and Omissions insurance coverage that exceeds the limits typically required by most State and Federal agencies.
