Site investigations include the identification and mitigation of the source, extent, and magnitude of contaminants in soil, groundwater, surface water, and surficial and subsurface structures. In many cases site investigations can be analogous to Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), though perhaps not following a prescriptive format. Elements of these investigations may consist of vapor surveys, soil borings, monitoring well installation, supply well sampling, and surface water sampling in combination or separately. SMA provides planning, permitting, regulatory agency interaction, field data collection, report construction, and professional witness services.
