We are currently recruiting for Project Engineers experienced in water and wastewater system analysis and design.

SUMMARY:  Immediate opening/openings for a self-motivated coordinator of an engineering team, able to establish and maintain good client relationships.  Plans, designs, and manages civil engineering projects from proposal to completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Prepares and monitors project budgets.  Has overall responsibility for the profitability of projects.
  • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
  • Serves as a project manager and engineer, funding agency contact and as a client contact.
  • Develops pricing and estimating for proposed projects.
  • Prepares forecast of workload for support staff with respect to assigned projects.
  • Develops probable construction cost estimates for projects.
  • Attends client meetings as needed.
  • Responsible for review of work-in-process, ensures accurate client billings, and monitors outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on assigned projects.
  • Prepares reports, contract documents, technical specifications, construction plans, construction schedules, and designs for project.
  • Coordinates with draftspersons, technicians, environmental and survey staff for other support activities on assigned projects.
  • Visits construction site to monitor progress, attends pay request meetings, and other duties per the contract documents.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Performs design calculations and maintains design files, and, where necessary, identifies and/or develops appropriate details for projects.

Education and/or Experience: 

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of 3 years experience as a Professional Engineer.  Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in water and wastewater system analysis and design. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

Must be a registered P.E. in New Mexico or have the ability to achieve P.E. status in New Mexico within 90 days.
