SMA Congratulates UNM Graduate Student/SMA Scientist

November 18th, 2016

SMA congratulates Mr. Jesse Sprague, grad student at UNM and SMA staff scientist.

Through the UNM GPSA grant, Mr. Sprague will be exploring 3D reconstruction of land surfaces. He is working towards solving the challenge of working with lots of data, the single biggest challenge preventing 3D reconstruction of land surfaces used for rapid landscape characterization.

The New Mexico Research Grant (NMRG) is designed to assist with larger projects that require substantial funding. It was originally created to encourage UNM students to work on research with state agencies that directly benefit the state of New Mexico.

Mr. Sprague was also awarded the Rocky Mountain-Urban and Regional Information Systems Association scholarship.
