Cynthia Stoehner-Hernandez, CPO, Joins SMA as Local Government Client Community Manager

Souder, Miller & Associates is excited to welcome Cynthia Stoehner-Hernandez, CPO, to the company as Local Government Client Community Manager. Ms. Stoehner-Hernandez has nearly two decades of experience working with Legislators in order to secure funding for roads, water and wastewater, building reconstruction, trails, and tourism projects. 

“As the newest member of our Public Client Community team, our corporate executives and I are pleased to have Cynthia join the client-facing side of SMA,” said Tod Phinney, SVP and Public Client Community Director of SMA. “Part of this team’s primary responsibility is to focus on the needs of the communities we continue to serve. Cynthia’s direct experience in working with NM communities, the NM Legislature, and various State Departments and funding programs, will help SMA fulfill our mission which is to create Stronger Communities by Design. We welcome Cynthia to our team with open arms!”

Ms. Stoehner-Hernandez is a Chief Procurement Officer in the State of New Mexico and has served as a Clerk-Treasurer for the Town of Mesilla for the past decade. Prior to her position as Clerk-Treasurer, she also served as Community Development Coordinator. In her time with the Town, Ms. Stoehner-Hernandez emphasized efficient budgeting practices to further the development of local projects and initiatives.  

“My experience with municipalities, counties, small water associations, and school districts has helped broaden my knowledge and appreciation of various funding practices. I look forward to extending my knowledge of planning, developing, and budgeting towards our clients as Souder, Miller and Associates' new Local Government Client Community Manager.”
