SMA has close working relationships with all state and federal regulatory agencies, including the various bureaus of the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED), New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT), Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Colorado Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC), New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD), the Texas Railroad Commission (TRRC), the various departments of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as well as the various organizations associated with permitting and the acquisition of right-of-way for construction projects, such as the railroads and the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer (NMOSE). These relationships not only keep SMA apprised of the most current regulations, but also allow for efficient navigation of administrative processes which might otherwise delay project schedules and unnecessarily deteriorate project budgets.
